Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei secures 30 billion yuan in financing to reduce emissions in the steel industry.

Reporters learned at the recent Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Symposium on Collaborative Innovation in Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection, held in Shijiazhuang, that Hebei Province will leverage the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Steel Industry Alliance for Technological Innovation in Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction to advance energy‑saving, emission‑reducing initiatives and the transformation and upgrading of its steel sector.
The Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Steel Industry Energy‑Saving and Emission‑Reduction Technology Innovation Alliance, established in April this year, currently comprises more than 70 universities, research institutes, steel enterprises, and related financial institutions across the three regions. The alliance is pioneering innovative capital‑investment models. At present, by leveraging a diversified array of financial instruments—including industrial funds, venture‑capital funds, bank loans, and financial leasing—financial institutions in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei plan to provide over RMB 30 billion in financing for energy‑saving and emission‑reduction projects.
