Donghai Special Steel strictly adheres to the overarching national energy development strategy, upholding the principles of conservation, cleanliness, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The company strengthens energy management, strives to build a circular economy, and achieves the cyclical reuse of energy resources. It has established an Energy Management Center that leverages information technology to centrally coordinate and optimize secondary energy sources and power‑carrying media, thereby maximizing energy efficiency. The company’s newly commissioned dry quenching (CDQ) project for coke ovens reduces annual water consumption for quenching by 540,000 tons. By introducing SHRT technology, ultra‑high‑pressure gas‑fired power generation, waste‑heat recovery from dry quenching, sintering waste‑heat recovery, steam‑power generation from converter and rolling processes, blast‑furnace top‑gas pressure recovery (TRT) power generation, and BPRT units, the company has significantly enhanced its overall energy utilization rate. Additionally, a steel‑slag treatment line has been constructed to recycle converter dust, iron oxide scale, and other waste materials for use in sintering, further elevating the level of solid‑waste recycling. Two 80,000‑cubic‑meter Wiggins‑type gas storage tanks have also been built, enabling the effective recovery of converter gas (LDG). Complementing these measures are cogeneration projects, including one set each of ultra‑high‑pressure gas‑fired generator units rated at 75,000 kW/h, 78,000 kW/h, 80,000 kW/h, and 93,000 kW/h; a 36,000 kW/h blast‑furnace TRT unit; a 45,000 kW/h steam‑waste‑heat recovery unit; and a 20,000 kW/h dry‑quenching waste‑heat recovery unit.
