Donghai Special Steel Hosts a Refresher Training Course on Workplace Safety for Team Leaders in Metallurgical Enterprises.

　　From November 17 to 22, 2015, Hebei Donghai Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. hosted a refresher training course on production management for team leaders in metallurgical enterprises. Zhang Bingyu, Deputy Director of the Luancounty Safety Supervision Bureau, and Niu Shulin, Executive Vice President of Donghai Special Steel, served as instructors, and all team leaders of Donghai Special Steel attended the training.

　　Director Zhang provided a detailed analysis of five key aspects: the current state of the metallurgical industry, the importance of strengthening safety management at the team level within enterprises, the existing challenges in team‑level safety management, measures and approaches for improving such management, and the essential qualities that team leaders must possess—namely, “three areas of thoroughness,” “four capabilities,” and “five commitments.” He underscored the pivotal role that team leaders, as frontline managers, play in ensuring workplace safety. Furthermore, he emphasized that team leaders must demonstrate on-site organizational and coordination skills; the ability to guide themselves and their employees in consciously resisting “three violations”; competence in identifying and addressing potential hazards; and proficiency in disaster prevention, evacuation, self‑rescue and mutual assistance, as well as in emergency response and accident prevention.
　　General Manager Niu emphasized that team leaders serve as the “hub” connecting production and management within the enterprise, playing a pivotal role in bridging top-down directives with frontline execution. They are responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of superior instructions, leading grassroots teams, and organizing and driving the development of team operations. Enhancing team leaders’ awareness of workplace safety is a critical measure for safeguarding the company’s operational safety and an effective means of reducing unauthorized command, unsafe work practices, violations of labor discipline, and accident occurrences. Team leaders are required to intensify their learning, elevate their safety consciousness and technical competence, rigorously enforce safety operating procedures and job‑specific accountability systems, and conduct regular job‑specific safety training, thereby truly achieving safe production.
　　Through this training, team leaders gained a clearer understanding of their critical “hub” role in workplace safety as frontline managers, enhanced their ability to manage and respond to emergencies, and strengthened their sense of responsibility for ensuring safe operations. They pledged to further reinforce safety management within their teams, safeguard production safety, and contribute to the company’s stable and sustainable operations.
